I know we’re not supposed to have favourites but… Natasha and Harry’s wedding was a real joy to work on from the very start! We were really spoilt with the venue – the bride’s mum’s beautiful farm in Meidrim with a stunning backdrop of the Carmarthenshire hills providing a view that’s hard to beat. Our first meeting took place around the kitchen table, and we had a tour of the farm where an old unused barn was being converted into a gorgeous room for the ceremony.

Natasha and her mum were in charge of decorations, and they wanted flowers everywhere – in the house, the barn, the marquee and in their hair! We waved our flowery wand over the whole day, and the effect was magical.

Natasha was instantly drawn to flowers with a natural, country feel, which were perfect for such a unique venue. We opted for an elegant colour scheme of pale pinks and cream, using beautiful bridal piano roses mixed with the delicately fragrant Naomi rose. Rosemary, astrantia and wax flowers added texture, while thistles gave a nod to the bride’s Scottish heritage. We used lots of greenery in the arrangements to get that natural, unstructured look which worked perfectly in the rustic setting.

With four bridesmaids who all had bouquets and flower crowns, there was such a happy, care-free summer vibe to this wedding. It was a real celebration! We tied all the bouquets with hessian to continue the natural look, and the buttonholes were twine-tied to match.

Fruit crates bursting with flowers provided a warm welcome to the entrance of both the barn and marquee, and we echoed this with mini versions for the table centres, placed on cut tree slices.

It was the flower crowns that got the biggest whoop when I delivered them! The bridesmaids had full crowns of rosemary and spray roses to complement their up-dos, while Natasha picked a half crown which worked so beautifully with her hair worn loose.

I worked closely with Natasha and her mum on the flowers and their warmth and enthusiasm was really inspiring. Some people just love flowers and it was obvious from the outset that here were two people who spoke my language, and they were an absolute joy to work with!
