Jessie and James were married in the middle of August, on one of the wettest weekends of an unusually hot year! Not that the rain could put a dampener on this day – which was bursting with the brightest, most beautiful blooms.
I just love it when a bride asks for colour, and when I first met Jessie, she was excited about using bold, beautiful happy flowers to create a fun, summery vibe. Seasonal sunflowers, dahlias in red, cream, orange and pink, along with thistles and the happiest little daisies combined to create a gorgeously eclectic look. But the star for me was the elegant bridal piano rose who showed up to keep it all stylish! A fantastic herb foliage of rosemary and flowering mint filled the room with the most amazing scent.
The Corran Resort and Spa in stunning Laugharne is surrounded by sea and marshland and provided a romantic setting. We really went to town dressing this venue, which was bursting with colour by the time we had finished. The bridesmaids’ dresses and table runners were a fashionable grey, providing the perfect backdrop for the colours to make a splash! The flowers were a key part of the decorations – and there were a lot of them – so by keeping the arrangements simple, the striking colours dressed rather than overpowered the room.
There were 12 tables, so instead making them all uniform, we opted for different styles of decoration – a beautiful pitcher bursting with blooms adorned half of them, while a simple collection of milk bottles and jam jars created a subtle, rustic touch to others.
The buttonholes were also mismatched and I loved overhearing the groomsmen deciding which ones to wear!
Jessie wanted a natural look for her bouquet so we used an assortment of different shapes, sizes and textures. This bouquet featured all the flowers included in the wedding, really setting the tone for the day. I really loved the flowering mint breaking out of the bouquet and adding the most amazing scent!
The flower girls looked super-cute in simple crowns, while Jessie opted for a rosemary crown with an off-set floral feature.
We didn’t flower-up this cake, but couldn’t miss giving it a mention! Created by Jessie’s super-talented mum, Debbie – visit http://peacetreaties.co.uk/ to see more of her amazing creations!
